Our dental appointments start with a comprehensive, sedated oral exam. We assess the oral soft tissue, the biting surface of the teeth, the tissue surrounding the teeth, and individual tooth health. This thorough process ensures we are optimizing the appointment and that every facet of your horse’s mouth is healthy.
Oral Adjustment/Floating
Sharp enamel points are removed and the imbalances of the biting surfaces are corrected to improve performance in the bridle and optimize chewing ability.
Power dental instruments and a full mouth speculum are used for the procedure while your horse’s head rests comfortably in a supporting halter. We take every precaution to give your horse the best experience possible.
We suggest that you have your horse have an oral exam approximately once a year. Some horses may require more or less maintenance than this, but we are here to help every step of the way.
